I have a question related to shared memory between the MPU and PRU, and I would like to get your feedback on my current setup and implementation.Along with that I have raised query on TI’s forum for that, but they are yet to develop this thing
https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1599624/am625-am62x-communication-using-shared-memory-between-mpu-and-pru-core/6174583
I have configured two reserved memory regions as below:
1.MPU–MCU shared memory
Start address: 0xA6000000
Size: 0x00800000 (8 MB)
2.MPU–PRU shared memory
Start address: 0xA6800000
Size: 0x01800000 (24 MB)
I modified the rpmsg zerocopy example on PRU as well as on MPU side and the zerocopy test between MPU and PRU is working as expected. For that
(1) PRU cores are not included in rproc_id enum, so we bypassed ti-rpmsg-char library and used standard Linux rpmsg_char driver /dev/rpmsg* device file operations from MPU side application
(2) PRU accesses physical addresses directly (no virtual memory)
As there are no SDK examples are available for AM62xx chip, I request you to review the code.
